Project Manager

The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the implementation and management of the NGO projects. Often the Project Managers of Doctors with Africa Cuamm have a health background (e.g. doctors or nurses) and perform directly also some project activities. In some cases, non-health Project Managers can also be appointed.

Logisticians

Doctors with Africa Cuamm logisticians can play organisational or technical roles. As the aim is capacity building and investment in local human resources, national logisticians are deployed wherever possible and international logisticians are generally deployed to South Sudan and Central African Republic.

Community Development Experts

Community development experts working with Doctors with Africa Cuamm coordinate activities to raise awareness and engage the community on health issues and services provided, working closely with activists and Community Health Workers.

Administrators

Working in close collaboration with the project managers, the administrators ensure a correct and transparent management of projects, in compliance with local and international regulations; usually the international administrator also has the role of supervising and coordinating national administrative and accounting staff. For administrators that wish to have a long-term commitment in the field of international cooperation, there is the possibility of professional growth within the Organisation, covering roles of greater complexity and responsibility as they gain experience: from project administrator to area administrator to country administrative coordinator.

Surgeons

In general, Doctors with Africa Cuamm surgeons work in rural hospitals, where they are responsible for Surgery and Maternity wards and guarantee the quality of care and training of national staff in managing surgical and obstetrical emergencies. At this moment, surgeons are mainly deployed to South Sudan.

Public Health experts of Doctors with Africa Cuamm operate principally in rural areas, where they work alongside local health authorities to improve the network of prevention and care services, in order to effectively reach the communities; they also generally play the role of project manager.

Pharmacists

Doctors with Africa Cuamm Pharmacists generally operate in rural hospitals, where they take on the management of drugs within hospitals and in peripheral health facilities. International pharmacists work alongside national staff, with the aim of strengthening the capacities and investing in local human resources. At the moment, international pharmacists are primarily deployed to South Sudan and Central African Republic.

Doctors with Africa Cuamm Paediatricians work mainly in rural hospitals, where they are responsible for the Paediatric wards and perform clinical, organisational and training activities. Depending on the needs of the projects, we send paediatricians or neonatologists.
