Brenda, 26 years old, was travelling to Kampala to spend the weekend with her family on the evening of Friday 25th May 2018. The bus in which she was traveling had a front-rear collision with a tractor, close to Kiryandongo. This tragedy gripped the whole nation with grief and the government had to declare three days of national mourning from 27th to 30th may 2018.
Doctors with Africa CUAMM’s staff in Uganda wants to celebrate the like of brenda with a special message:
Breanda was a God fearing, very enthusiastic young lady who was filled with energy and performed all her duties professionally with determination and passion. She was a friend, a sister to many and loved everyone around her. She was indeed a talent that CUAMM was nurturing for greater professional heights.
Brenda first worked with other organizations before joining CUAMM in November 2016 as the Project Administrative Officer in Oyam – Aber Hospital until the time of her demise.
In the message, it is also mentioned that:
Brenda was born to the late Paul and Mrs. Adhiambo Esther in April 1991. Her father passed away 6 years ago leaving her and her siblings in the hands of their mother who struggled to educate them. At the time of her death, she was the bread winner in her family because she was the only formally employed person among her other four siblings. She had indicated intentions to start building for her mother a house by June 2018.
All the staff underline that:
CUAMM lost an instrumental person and her work and contribution will forever be missed, especially in Oyam. Rest in Peace Brenda. You will be missed dearly.
