    A RESOURCE OF INESTIMABLE VALUE

    Never before this year of pandemic, have we realized the importance of water for the health system. We want to remember it today, on the World Water Day. Water supply becomes crucial in Africa where its scarcity is a daily challenge in addition to many other difficulties, as the threat of Covid-19.

    A NEED FOR CONCRETE ACTION AND COMPASSION

    The numbers of confirmed cases of COVID-19, intensive care unit admissions and deaths from the virus continue to rise. But there is light at the end of the tunnel, and its name is vaccines. Availability is limited: we don’t have enough doses in Italy, and the situation is far worse in Africa.

    A THOUSAND WAYS TO SAY DAD.

    Fathers are often marginal figures in Africa, as parental responsibilities are mainly a duty of women. Anyhow, their active role in the family is essential for the health of children.

    A VACCINE FOR “US” ALL

    Global emergencies demand global responses, and Africa cannot be left out. A vaccination program is clearly imperative there as well: not only is it the right thing to do, it will also help ensure everyone’s wellbeing, as it is the only way to put an end to the spread of this virus and its variants.

    COVID-19: NEW EQUIPMENT TO THE HOSPITAL OF CARATE BRIANZA, LOMBARDY

    Gazebos, stretchers and screens have been delivered today by Doctors with Africa Cuamm thanks to the U.S. Government. They will help to reorganize the flow of patients who access the hospital. The donation is funded by USAID through the “Italian Response to Covid-19” project.

    Cuamm launches an intervention in the Tigray region

    In the north of Ethiopia, the situation is dire. Thanks to the support of CEI, Doctors with Africa CUAMM, is launching an intervention to support several health centers that have been severely damaged in the conflict. The people, most of whom have been displaced, need everything: food, clean water, and medicine. The threat of Covid 19 is making the situation worse, spreading rapidly in Africa too.

    International Women’s Day Two portraits of determination

    Martha and Inocencia are among the women who make up 55% of the staff working daily on Doctors with Africa CUAMM projects. Women are the majority of those working with us to change for the health of women themselves and their entire communities.

    Making a difference with migrant people

    On Sunday, February 28, our volunteers from Bari went to the countryside around Foggia, to keep doing check-ups and distributing food to the migrant people who live there. As usual, Aadyta, a cultural mediator from Mauritius,  has joined the volunteers, to help them in their work.

    Cuamm and Ares Italia Partnership against covid-19 and for Global Health

    With the aid of the U.S. government, Doctors with Africa CUAMM will support the management of the ARES field hospital, as it already does for three other facilities in the region. Giving attention to outlying areas, we are launching a partnership that looks to the future and solidarity with the rest of the world.
