Doctors with Africa CUAMM Uganda has launched the project titled “ERASE" covering Oyam and Kole districts in Lango region, Northern Uganda. It is mainly aimed at strengthening malaria prevention and control, and improving quality of health services at community and facility level.
The healthcare innovation introduced at Mangiagalli Clinic at the Policlinico of Milan, implemented by Doctors with Africa CUAMM with the support of the American Government, was launched today. Remote monitoring is a new approach that allows health practitioners to monitor patients out of the traditional physical setting of healthcare and to intervene when necessary.
A few days ago, Jigjiga, capital of the Somali region in Ethiopia, hosted the launch event for an emergency intervention to support and strengthen the resilience of displaced persons, refugees, seasonal migrants and their host communities in the Somali region and areas of Ethiopia bordering Kenya and Somalia.
Many stories and voices told the work of Cuamm to 2,500 people gathered at the Gran Teatro Geox.
537 million people in the world are affected by diabetes, 24 million in Africa. These numbers are set to increase according to the WHO.
