Last month, CUAMM has organized an event to present lesson learnt, best practices and results of the Cervical Cancer project, implemented from April 2015 to May 2018, and supporting the start-up of cervical cancer screening and treatment services in four districts of South West Shoa Zone of Oromia region, Ethiopia.

The project is the results of a multilateral partnership between Doctors with Africa CUAMM, the Oromia Health Bureau, the Federal Ministry of Health of Ethiopia (FMoH), Pink Ribbon Red Ribbon and the Bristol Myers Squibb Foundation.

Project results were outstanding (see fact sheets Cervical Cancer_1 and Cervical Cancer_2), and government officials expressed their appreciation through acknowledgments and an appreciation letter.

“…. I have seen no NGO in Ethiopia working like CUAMM said Tekelech Asnake – Federal Ministry of Health representative.

These encouraging results are key to strengthen efforts to tackle NCDs and provide quality health services to the most vulnerable populations.
