The international conference was an opportunity for exchange among governments, churches, institutions, and experience in the field. Cardinal Angelo Bagnasco made a special guest appearance, via a special video call from Genova. The over 1000 participants heard the words of various African exponents and representatives of national and international institutions such as Kourtoum Nacro, delegate Unfpa in Angola; Mons. Giuseppe Franzelli, Bishop of Lira, Uganda; Richard Nduhura, Ugandan vice-minister for health and the Italian minister Elisabetta Belloni, General Menager of the Italian Development Cooperation.
The conference was the first step in a major project to provide free access to safe delivery, in four hospitals where Doctors with Africa CUAMM operates.
