A game, twenty illustrations, a nursery rhyme: these are the ingredients of Seme con seme, a new product created by Doctors with Africa CUAMM, with the support of Dal Negro, Italy’s leading company in the playing card sector.
The concept was born from the project “Seeds of future – Integrated intervention to fight malnutrition”, which CUAMM carries out in Ethiopia, a commitment to the health of mothers and children. The health cooperation programme is developed, in particular, in the districts of Ameya, Goro, Seden Sodo and Wolisso Zuria, in the South West Shewa Zone region, with the aim of tackling malnutrition and undernourishment, acting in several areas: agriculture, promoting productive improvement; protection, implementing support measures and psycho-social assistance; health, investing in training, prevention and improved care.
THE GAME
“Seme con seme” is composed of twenty pairs of cards, illustrated by Andrea Rivola, representing five steps, each of which has a sequence of four actions: cultivation, food preparation, healthy nutrition, play and interaction, protection and care. The various steps are described thanks to a nursery rhyme that enriches the instruction booklet contained in the box, which briefly recounts the CUAMM’s mission in Ethiopia from which the game takes its inspiration. The graphic coordination is by Heads Collective.
