We at Doctors with Africa CUAMM would like to extend our congratulations to Celina Schocken and Dr. Condoleeza Rice following their appointment two weeks ago as Chief Executive Officer and Chair of the Board of Directors, respectively, of Pink Ribbon Red Ribbon (PRRR).
Our partner in Ethiopia, PRRR is a public-private partnership of global scope launched in 2011 to provide access to preventive care and treatment for women and girls affected by cervical and breast cancer in countries where the need is greatest. To fulfil our own mission to meet the health care needs of women of reproductive age and during the phases leading up to menopause, Doctors with Africa CUAMM works with PRRR’s support in the Saint Luke hospital in Wolisso, Ethiopia, as well as in the ten peripheral health centres in Goro, Wolisso and Wonchi Districts, providing women for quality preventive care and treatment for cancer. Thanks to our community engagement approach, in 2014 CUAMM was able to screen 241 women for cervical and breast cancer and to detect 15 cases.
