    The scars of displacement and forced migration

    Experiences of displacement and forced migration leave deep and lasting scars on people’s lives, causing severe psychological trauma and increasing vulnerability to poverty, exploitation, and re-traumatization, with significant consequences for mental health and well-being. Elisa Tembe, CUAMM psychologist and Project Manager, knows this reality firsthand. Today, she works on the front line, supporting individuals and communities as they recover from trauma and rebuild their lives.

    In Wolisso, Ethiopia, OdonAssist™ has made its way into the delivery room. Eight newborns have been delivered by health workers thanks to the use of this device, which is as innovative as frugal. It is the first time ever.

    For three years, we have stood alongside the people of Ukraine, supporting vulnerable communities and helping restore a health system deeply affected by the conflict. Thanks to a new project funded by the Italian Cooperation we launch a new phase of work focused on health, protection, and capacity building in the oblasts of Kharkiv and Sumy.

    Nurturing Hope in Bossangoa

    The classroom at the Bossangoa School of Nursing and Midwifery is filled as classes begin for a cohort of thirty students. These men and women—drawn from communities across the district—are the first to seize the opportunity to study in Bossangoa at the new institute built by CUAMM in partnership with the Government of the Central African Republic.
