Doctors with Africa CUAMM has joined Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN), an international movement committed to making food and good nutrition a right for all the world’s people. More than 55 countries and 2,000 organizations have joined this collective effort to make the network’s motto become a reality everywhere.

This effort takes on even more significance in light of the critical situation currently being faced by many Sub-Saharan African countries, including Mozambique, Ethiopia and South Sudan, where a severe draught is destroying crops and leaving millions of people without sufficient food.

We at Doctors with Africa CUAMM will be glad to share our experience with other SUN members, as well as our determination to help mobilize a movement to benefit the world’s most isolated and vulnerable communities.

The need to improve nutrition and combat malnutrition is universal; indeed, the United Nations General Assembly recently proclaimed the UN “Decade of Action on Nutrition”. It will run from now until 2025, focusing in on an issue that is critical worldwide and showing the way forward to those working to ensure that health becomes truly global.
