Focused on international development, global health and health policy, Doctors with Africa CUAMM’s magazine Health and Development is published in Italian and English. It views health as critical to sustainable development, and features articles on our work in the field and good practices learned as well as commentary by international experts.
An online edition of the magazine is also available. It includes further pieces on these topics in addition to the articles offered in the print edition.
Between June and December 2022, CUAMM assisted Ukrainian refugees in Moldova, working in two refugee centers in the city of Chișinău. It helped over 1,000 patients in this period, most of whom came with health needs due to chronic non-communicable diseases, such as cardiovascular and neoplastic diseases.
Thirty CUAMM volunteers – from diverse backgrounds with diverse aspirations – tell us about their experiences in Africa in the form of letters. “Africa andata e ritorno”is a book that shines a light on many facets of Africa through genuine, vivid stories of volunteers who worked and lived in Africa to improve health.

The work of giving care has turned into a service-based job where patients are the recipients of a set of services – diagnostic, therapeutic, support – that are hyper-fragmented and provided by “anyone” with the goal of achieving the maximum output with the minimum input.
