In emergencies

We respond to crises by delivering essential healthcare and life-saving services when they are needed most.

Wars, droughts, environmental disasters, and economic crises force millions of people to leave their homes. Most of these movements take place within Africa, across countries or within the same state, creating new forms of vulnerability and placing increasing pressure on already fragile local health systems.

Providing healthcare in times of crisis

Doctors with Africa CUAMM works in these settings to ensure access to basic and emergency healthcare, while safeguarding the continuity of essential services even in the most severe crises.

Our immediate response is always linked to a long-term approach: strengthening health systems, training local health workers, and building the resilience of communities so they can better withstand and recover from shocks.

WHAT WE DO

Our intervention combines immediate response with longer-term efforts to strengthen health services over time. In particular:

We deploy mobile health clinics and set temporary health posts to provide care to both refugees and internal desplaced persons.

We guarantee immunization and maternal and child healthcare.

We provide essential medicines and medical supplies.

We deliver emergency kit.

We promote prevention and awareness activities on hygiene, communicable diseases, and mental health.

We place particular attention on protecting women and children, who are among the most vulnerable in crisis settings.
Our approach is based on preparedness—the ability to anticipate risks and respond quickly and effectively, reducing the impact of emergencies. Training, close collaboration with local authorities, and a constant field presence help build stronger, more adaptable health services over time.
