    Protecting life at birth the importance of nurses

    In Beira, Mozambique, practical training has begun for the 20 nurses participating in the annual professional neonatal nursing course, which started last February. This is an opportunity for exchange and growth that cannot be taken for granted for those who have often been accustomed to working without adequate training, alone, in a context where challenges are many.

    Sickle Cell Disease a forgotten NCD

    On the occasion of World Sickle Cell Disease Day whish is observed worldwide on June 19, the global community joins forces to raise awareness on one of the most widespread yet often overlooked genetic blood disorders. In Pujehun district, Sierra Leone, CUAMM is addressing the public health issue represented by NCDs through the PEN-Plus project.

    Blood bank as a lifeline in Karamoja

    The Moroto Blood Bank stands out as a life-saving service in Karamoja, significantly improving health outcomes in the region. Since its opening in 2022, it has contributed to notable improvements in maternal and child health indicators. Nevertheless, cultural barriers remain a challenge—one that CUAMM is addressing through a comprehensive strategy.

    We have recently gathered in Brindisi, Apulia on occasion of Accelerate2050 the global conference focused on social, financial and environmental sustainability promoted by Sustainatopia event. An opportunity to share experiences and discuss strategies for global issues. Together with international guests, we explored the nexus between climate and health.

    Ukraine No truce

    As fighting intensifies in the east, medical logistics becomes even more important to ensure adeguate and timely care in areas most affected by the conflict. Over the past year, with the support of AICS we have involved eleven healthcare facilities located in Dnipropetrovska and Donetska oblasts in medical logistics activities, reaching a target population of 30,400 people.

    Diagnosis, treatments, resources tools that save lives

    There are places where seeking care is a challenge, receiving the right diagnosis luck and ensuring proper treatment a bless no one takes for granted. Central African Republic is one of those. Bethel was lucky enough to receive the care he needed in the one and only paediatric hospital in the Country, where CUAMM team works around the clock to ensure children like him adeguate and timely care.
