Activities aim at improving the management and the quality of services

Doctors are responsible for the ward they work in. They:

  • Perform clinical activities.
  • Support the organisational and clinical management.
  • Develop and apply clinical guidelines and protocols.
  • Ensure capacity building: coordinating, training and supervising the hospital health staff.
  • Collaborate in the data collection and analysis

Nurses and midwives collaborate in the staff management and capacity building by:

  • Performing clinical activities.
  • Cooperating to the development and application of guidelines and protocols.
  • Supervising and training health staff.
  • Supporting ward/delivery room organisation and management.
  • Collaborate in the data collection and analysis.

AT THE DISTRICT LEVEL

 

We work alongside district health authorities to improve the management and the quality of services and to strengthen community engagement

Health professionals with a Public Health background:

  • Ensure technical assistance to improve the local capabilities to plan, coordinate and monitor the quality of health services.
  • Develop and strengthen the referral system by improving the supervision, communication and transport between communities, peripheral health facilities and hospitals.
  • Strengthen data collection and analysis
  • Guarantee health promotion and education.

In general, Doctors with Africa Cuamm surgeons work in rural hospitals, where they are responsible for Surgery and Maternity wards and guarantee the quality of care and training of national staff in managing surgical and obstetrical emergencies. At this moment, surgeons are mainly deployed to South Sudan.

Public Health Experts

Public Health experts of Doctors with Africa Cuamm operate principally in rural areas, where they work alongside local health authorities to improve the network of prevention and care services, in order to effectively reach the communities; they also generally play the role of project manager.

M&E experts

Monitoring and Evaluation experts provide technical support with the aim of improving data collection and analysis, reporting, monitoring and evaluation of the ongoing projects in a specific area or at country level.

Pharmacists

Doctors with Africa Cuamm Pharmacists generally operate in rural hospitals, where they take on the management of drugs within hospitals and in peripheral health facilities. International pharmacists work alongside national staff, with the aim of strengthening the capacities and investing in local human resources. At the moment, international pharmacists are primarily deployed to South Sudan and Central African Republic.

At this moment, international  nurses are principally deployed to South Sudan and Central African Republic.

Doctors with Africa Cuamm internists operate mainly in rural hospitals, where they carry out clinical, organisational and training activities. They can also play a role in providing technical assistance to local authorities in the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases.

Doctors with Africa Cuamm midwives generally operate  in rural hospitals or perform activities in the field. At hospital level, international midwives work alongside national staff playing organisational and coordination roles, aiming at strengthening capacities and investing in local human resources. At the moment, international midwives are mainly deployed to South Sudan.

Doctors with Africa Cuamm Paediatricians work mainly in rural hospitals, where they are responsible for the Paediatric wards and perform clinical, organisational and training activities. Depending on the needs of the projects, we send paediatricians or neonatologists.
