Since 1950 Doctors with Africa CUAMM has been committed to promoting and protecting the health of African populations. In this album of memories we wanted to collect some of the most significant moments of these 70 years of history to share together the journey made thanks to the stories, the lives, the steps of the many who, over time, have chosen to walk “with” Africa.

Audience with Pope Francesco
7 May 2016
During a special audience granted to CUAMM in which 9,000 people take part, Pope Francesco blesses and encourages the operators of Doctors with Africa.
South Sudanese Refugee Emergency
The long civil war in South Sudan causes a refugee emergency at a “regional” level with the involvement of neighboring countries. In Uganda and Ethiopia CUAMM is active in assisting the South Sudanese who have fled the country and the inhabitants of the host regions by strengthening the existing territorial health structures and those of the refugee camps.

Bangui, in the presence of the President of the Central African Republic, Faustin-Archange Touadéra, the project to support the city’s University pediatric hospital is launched. Thus began CUAMM’s intervention in the Central African Republic.
Tropical cyclones Idai and Kenneth hit Mozambique
March – April 2019
The most serious natural disaster ever in the country, Idai and Kenneth hit Mozambique on March 14-15 and April 24-25, 2019 respectively. Idai hits Central Mozambique (Beira), Kenneth the country’s northernmost province, Cabo Delgado. Doctors with Africa CUAMM intervenes in the first emergency and in reconstruction
