This was the goal of the visit paid by Director General Father Dante Carraro to Bangui, where efforts continue in support of the Pediatric Complex\u2014the only pediatric hospital in the country\u2014and the project to build a midwifery school in Bossangoa.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"401\" data-end=\"945\">The mission also became an opportunity for <strong>a special meeting: <\/strong>\u00a0Father Dante Carraro together with <strong>Ambassador Filippo Scamacca del Murgo <\/strong>and <strong>CUAMM Country Representative &#8211; Marina Panarese<\/strong> were received for the first time yesterday at La Renaissance, the presidential palace by <strong>the President of the Central African Republic, Faustin-Archange Touad\u00e9ra.<\/strong>\u00a0An institutional visit aimed at strengthening cooperation efforts in the country, and at highlighting and appreciating CUAMM&#8217;s commitment to maternal and child health and education.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"947\" data-end=\"1163\">Among the topics discussed were: the strong involvement of Italian Cooperation in the country\u2019s development; the collaboration between CUAMM and the Ministry of Health; and the results that this synergy is producing.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"1165\" data-end=\"1503\">\u201cItalian Cooperation\u2019s support in the health sector is essential, and the work of organizations like CUAMM proves it,\u201d <strong>said Ambassador Filippo Scamacca del Murgo.<\/strong> \u201cThe results are already visible in terms of improved health infrastructure, reduced child mortality, and the provision of free, quality care for children and their families.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"1505\" data-end=\"1768\">The President also mentioned the new, major challenge launched by the Minister of Health, Pierre Soms\u00e9, and taken on by CUAMM last year: the construction of a midwifery school in Bossangoa\u2014the first in the country to offer training opportunities outside the capital.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"1770\" data-end=\"2223\">\u201cThe school is the result of a long-standing collaboration with the Ministry of Health and reflects our way of working <em data-start=\"1889\" data-end=\"1895\">with<\/em> Africa. We started by supporting the Pediatric Complex in Bangui, then moved to the smaller hospital in Bossangoa, and now\u2014thanks to the results achieved\u2014we are ready for this new challenge, strongly supported by Minister Pierre Soms\u00e9, who also participated in our Annual Meeting last year in Turin,\u201d <strong>said Father Dante Carraro.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"2225\" data-end=\"2508\">Through the midwifery school construction project, CUAMM\u2019s commitment in the country takes a step forward\u2014making education a tool to accelerate development, improve health indicators, and offer growth opportunities to the many young people who can and want to be part of this change.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"2510\" data-end=\"2871\">\u201cWe are grateful to Italy and CUAMM for their support to our country.
