On November 9th at the Teatro Verdi in Florence, Doctors with Africa CUAMM will hold its Annual Meeting, focused on Africa and the health challenges of mothers and children. This year, the Annual Meeting, attended by many CUAMM volunteers and supporters, will again be an excellent chance to take stock in the third year of the “First 1,000 Days for Mothers and Children program, which aims to ensure 320,000 women in Angola, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda the right to attended births and nutritional assistance for themselves and their children in the first two years of their children’s lives.

In many corners of Africa, given too little attention, where our journey continues and strengthens, including places like Mozambique that was suddenly ravaged by the violence of a cyclone, we want to keep on saying loud and clear that health and care are rights for all and cannot be the privilege of a few.

Our experienced staff and our newer members will tell us of their unflagging commitment, providing practical care with genuine dedication. In Florence, we will tell how important it is to walk and build together with the most vulnerable people, tending to their wounds and making them know that they are not alone. This is the “battle” that inspires and drives us every day!

This free, open meeting speaks to the value that CUAMM gives to operational research, a tool for ensuring the quality of health services in poor countries as well. Detailed program to come.
